AC Lounge is an intimate neighborhood venue that brings the dance class atmosphere of this event down to earth with a classy social space featuring the VIP Sunken Living Room; the bar-adjacent dance floor & Live DJ. This unique experience allows you to invite your friends to come down and add this additional style of dance that has been gaining traction in the US since 2009 to your repertoire, enjoy the sexy lounge vibe and have access to tasty libations. Located in the heart of North Park, just down the street from The Air Conditioned Lounge on 30th Street, A Time To Dance offers diversity of cultural dance styles from all around the world; Kizomba, Afro House, Afrobeats, Salsa, Bachata, Bellydance, Dancehall, Blues, Country Line Dancing and Hip Hop. This event happens every fourth Tuesday of the month so grab your friends and get ready to have a great time. With your $10 cover you get to learn the basics of Kizomba. Class starts at 9pm and don’t worry, you don’t need a partner the instructor will do a great job of making sure everyone rotates and gets a partner during class. Concerned you have two left feet? That isn’t a concern either, if you know how to walk you can learn how to dance Kizomba. Classes start with a little history about the dance, which originated in Angola. It is a couple’s dance, meant to be danced with your mom, dad, aunt, uncle, cousins, friends, etc. The music is driven by a strong beat and the dance itself is grounded and very smooth. It is considered to be one of the most connected dances in the dance world. By the end of the class you will have learned enough to be able to dance the basics with anyone! Continue to practice what you have learned in the class, during the social from 10pm-1am. Enjoy one of the amazing libations from the mixologist here at The Air Conditioned Lounge.
