Most likely to be busting a move behind the bar? Definitely our favorite Texas native and bartender extraordinaire, Jose! After more than three years of flippin’ bottles here at The Air Conditioned Lounge, Jose has earned a reputation with customers and coworkers alike as being ridiculously speedy, happy-go-lucky, and a hard working barkeep that you can always depend on.
With a full bar on any busy night at The Lounge, Jose is the one that is cool and collected, friendly and accomodating, and is having fun while doing it! His favorite part about our neighborhood bar? Definitely hanging out with his fun and diverse coworkers! From the moment Jose wandered into our club, he has kept everyone happy with his incredible bartending skills, charming personality, and team-player attitude!
Outside of his killer dance moves (have you seen his Floss?!), Jose is a stellar musician! Our multi talented barkeep is a classic guitarist that likes to refine his skills through regular practice and creating music. He is currently a full time student at San Diego State University where he is further studying music to one day be a music professor and share his passion with others! If that wasn’t enough already, Jose is also an avid singer and even plays the trumpet too! Our music man fancies himself a fantastic home cook as well, and he loves trying out new recipes in his kitchen as much as he loves experimenting with new cocktails at the bar! When Jose is not tending bars, strumming guitars, or grilling a feast, he spends as much time as he can training and loving on his rescue dog and relaxing with some chocolate and red wine (for himself, NOT the doggo, of course).
From rocking the bar at The Lounge every weekend to years of bartending in Dallas under his belt, as well as his experience as a professional beertender with Mike Hess Brewing, Jose definitely knows his way behind a bar! Although he can absolutely shake and stir up whatever you desire, the guy can make a mean old fashioned and shines with creative, fun SHOTS! With a perfect balance of bitters and sweetness to elevate a heavy pour of bourbon and a touch of orange essence, Jose’s old fashioned is almost too easy to sip all night. If you’re looking for something a little more fun to get the party going, he always loves to shake up a round of specialty shots too! From the classics like Kamikazes and Lemon Drops, to our specialty shot “The Big B” (a DELISH mix of Van Gogh Acai Vodka, fresh lime juice, and a touch of simple syrup), Jose has got you and your crew covered!
