DJ Junior the Discopunk

Junior the Disco Punk is an entrepreneur with a vengeance and an almost vampire work ethic. Arguably an immortal staple of the San Diego club scene (and “immortal” was the only answer he would give when we asked his age), the homegrown DJ spends his days holed up in his Normal Heights Craftsman studio.

There, he hides out among his towers of keyboards, a MacBook overcrowded with everything from electro remixes of Australian indie pop to all-but-forgotten Scottish 1980s, his collection of vintage velvet nudes and multiple Eames lounge chairs and a labyrinth of crates filled with some 5,000 records.

Once the sun's excused itself for the day, you'll find him at... AC Lounge on Fridays... and the Brass Rail on Mondays.

His résumé is padded with the names of nearly every dance floor in town: 4th & B, the Casbah, Beauty Bar, On Broadway, Confidential, Belo, Kensington Club, Whistle Stop, Airport Lounge, Bar Dynamite and Red Circle, to name a few. You'll have to flip through the 73 pages of his MySpace calendar archive for the rest.
